Emergency Care Programs given in the New York area offers NY State EMT-B Original Courses on a constant ongoing basis throughout the year. Courses are offered throughout the New York City area with varying training schedules to accommodate our large student population. All our courses contain the same number of instructional hours, however, depending on the course schedule selected (which days & hours) attendance requirements can vary from 33 to 37 sessions. In addition, our students receive the latest and most updated information on state & local protocols and policy. The decision you must make is how often per week you wish to attend school, taking into account requisite study time.

Course Objectives
At the conclusion of the course the EMT Basic must demonstrate competency in:
  • Patient assessment
  • Trauma care
  • Managing medical emergencies
  • Utilizing Basic Life Support equipment
  • CPR
  • Hemorrhage control
  • Fracture and spinal stabilization
  • Managing environmental emergencies
  • Emergency childbirth
  • Use of a semi-automatic defibrillator



Position Description
Successfully complete the NYS approved curriculum. Achievement of passing scores on practical and written certification examinations. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to communicate verbally; via telephone and radio equipment; ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 125 pounds (250 with assistance); ability to interpret written, oral and diagnostic form instructions; ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high-stress situations; ability to be unaffected by loud noises and flashing lights; ability to function efficiently throughout an entire work shift without interruption, ability to read English language manuals and road maps; ability to interview patient, family members, and bystanders; ability to document in writing all relevant information, ability to converse in English with co-workers and hospital staff as to status of patient.

EMT Course Objectives
At the conclusion of the course the EMT Basic must demonstrate competency assessing a patient, handling emergencies, utilizing Basic Life Support equipment, have the ability to perform CPR, control hemorrhage, provide non-invasive shock treatment, fracture and spinal stabilization, manage environmental emergencies, emergency childbirth and use of a semi-automatic defibrillator.

Payment Plan
Option A:
$50 DISCOUNT
Pay in full at the first class and pay only $800.00 in addition to the $145.00 pre-registration fee.

Option B:
$145.00 Pre Registration Fee
$450.00 at the First Day of Class
$200.00 at the First Exam
$200.00 at the Second Exam

Emergency Care Programs can not guarantee job placement but we will assist you in finding a job to the best of our ability. In the past, we have had excellent success placing our students in employment positions. Our students have been employed by a number of prehospital agencies, including but not limited to:

Potential Salary

Private: $21,100 - $31,200 + overtime and benefits
City/Fire Department New York (FDNY): $27,295 - $39,179 + overtime and benefits
